Spring ski tours in Kühtai

Kühtai is a nice valley and with a ski resort next to Oeztal and Innsbruck in Tirol, Austria. I had only heard nice stories of the area until in March and April 2019 I finally visited the valley for ski tours and lift assisted freeride skiing.

Kühtai Wetterkreuzkogel ski tour

End of March 2019. Drove on Friday and slept the night in car to be hiking early to Wetterkreyzkogel. Map of the valley is here.

In the afternoon found some good fresh snow next to Kühtai ski area.

Kühtai Roter Kogel ski tour

Week or so later I repeated the night in car to early start for a tour from the Kühtai valley side dam towards Roter Kogel, or the saddle next to it. Map of the area is available here.

The clowds rolled in a bit but still a perfect day. The terrain in Kühtai is awesome for ski tours! Will be back...
