Editors block
I have heard of writers block. Famous novel writers have these when half way through their new book they suddenly just get stuck. The creativity just stops. The story just doesn't come together.
I just had a few weeks of video editors block. Skiing and getting more footage every weekend was not helping. Luckily I managed to plow through and results are a few short video clips from my weekend warrior travels.
Damüls just before Xmas
First one is Damüls in Vorarlberg where we visited for the first time just before Xmas. The slopes are nice, terrain mellow and ski area huge. Lots of grassy fields to ski through when snow is right. On the negative side, the place is quite expensive. 50 € for a day ticket is the highest I've paid in Austria.
Venet with new snow
Next, in mid January we visited Venet in Landeck/Zams after a big storm. The avalanche warnings were high West towards St. Anton and on the North side of Alps, but Venet had a nice amount of stable snow and nice tree runs. The restaurant at the top is also really comfortable and prices are ok with ski ticket at 38 € for a day.
Berwang also with new snow
After the Saturday in Venet and a dump of snow over night, we decided to first get over the Fernpass towards home in Germany and then ski one of the resorts which we normally just drive by: Berwang. On the first runs I saw powder hunters jumping off the chair lifts to ski powder under the lift, but we took it easier and tried to learn pow skiing next to the many blue pistes.
Skiing smaller resorts is a really good idea this year when there is enough snow everywhere. Small places offer nice suprises!
