Colors of November in Iso-Syöte

Early winter shows up with various colors in Iso-Syöte ski resort in Finland. Here's how I saw them in the last week of November 2020.

Gray

Gray clouds and white snow paints everything in gray. If sun comes through between the clouds there are yellow and orange tints. Sometimes clouds are really humid and bring a dark or blue tone to everything.

Gold

When the sky is clear and sun barely rises above the horizon, then we see trees and snowy bits painted with gold.

Black

Sun sets early and clear skies bring darkness, at 4 pm in the afternoon. Stars, the Moon and artificial light make skiing possible and on the slopes I find black metal obstacles: rails!

White

New snow is white. It reflects most of light and at some point turns gray. But when it's light, fluffy powder snow then I call the color white!

Those were the colors of Iso-Syöte in November 2020. Lets see what colors December and new year brings!
