OST freestyle at Nurmes 30.6-1.7.2000

Mika Kauppinen posing at Hyvärilä camping area 1st of July 2000 at 2:45am. Nurmes is famous for having the only operational freestyle waterjumpin Finland. Me and Mika tried it for the first time on this weekend - it's a safe way for trying out new jumps with skis.

I tried to spin, but...

Kari 'Pappa' Perko going for the forward - I think.

Once again my spin is off axis.

Me and my try for the forward somersault. If you're relaxed with skis on and have previously done some trampolining, it's a small step to go for this one.

My first try with misty. I've done the 360 one a couple of times on a trampoline, but I have no clue what I'm doing in the air. The X is beginners luck in this first ever try, which went a whole 720 in the end and landed somewhat properly.

Forward.

Forward again.

The take-off slide is rather tricky at start, but it gets easier.

A beatyfull shot by Mika. Me and my forward. I think this one is rather ready for a snow try-out.

Yep, I think I'll try it on snow next season. Btw, thanks to Kari for lending a wetsuit for me.
