Boot mod: new bottom layer

"These boots were made for walking..."

During the past decade these boots have seen some walking too. Up and down the rocky hill sides in the Alps, northern Sweden, Norway and Finland. The tail and tip were so worn, that the boot started to move about 5mm in the back binding. A fix was easy and cheap: shoemaker glued about 3mm of stuff to the tail and tip and a new 1mm bottom layer. Looks ok. Feels fine and bindings fit like the boots were new.

New bottom layer

Bindings fit and tail part wont slip anymore as the little helper shows.

And one year later. I think all hope is lost. The fix worked for a year but I think it's time to move one. RIP.

New vs. Old.
