Lyngen 5-10.12.2006

Actually closer to Tromsö than Lyngen... We rented a flat from Ramfjord camping and started searching for snow. Weather had been a bit too warm, but there was enough snow to ski from the road side to these places. Pictures by Petteri Heino and Mikko Pahkala, panoramas by Hugin, Gimp and me. Videos to come some day...

Views from Ramfjordbotn

On the first day we decided to go the valley beside Ramfjord camping.

Hard snow all the way to tree line.

Not getting that much better.

On second day we took it safe, Andersdaltinden.

Icy snow on the ridge.

Snow was hard so we decided to climb up up the shute between the rocks.

Wind packed snow...

and bad judgement from me, steep wind packed snow is just asking for trouble. I managed to scramble out of the falling snow cover.

A little jump at lower part were the snow was really hard.

To safety.

Day three and Storheimfjellet.

Day four and the classic Blåtind.

Visibility was good so we decided to go high.

But when it was time to ski some dark clouds made the contrast dissappear.

Snow was good.

If I only could have seen where slope was.

Rest of the trip went down with stomack flu for some of our group. Not nice at all, but shit happens. Literally.
